NTFS Permissions Report Tool
An easy to use GUI tool designed to quickly view the NTFS permissions on shared and local folders. An NTFS Permissions Report will show you which users and groups have permissions to which folders. The report can be filtered, sorted, and exported to a CSV, Excel, or PDF file.

How to Use the NTFS Permissions Reporter
Step 1
Click on NTFS Permissions from the management tools page.
Step 2
Enter the local or UNC path or click browse.
By default, the tool will scan all sub-folders (0). To limit how many sub-folders deep to scan enter a folder depth.
Click Run to start scanning folders.
The report contains the following columns.
- DirectoryName
- Account
- DirectoryOwner
- DirectoryRights
- Type (Allow or Deny)
- AppliesTo
- IsInherited
Step 3
If you want to export the NTFS permissions click the export button.
Search NTFS Permissions
Use the search box to search for users, groups, specific permissions, or anything from the results grid.
For example, I’ll search for folders that have the everyone group applied to the permissions.
